2020 is over…

Hello fellas, what’s up?

Finally, we manage to reach the end of 2020, an atypical year, where COVID made many victims the whole world, and the Brazilian federal government did not commit itself to protect its population. I won’t go into details, but this government doesn’t have any intention to be at least good.

I, Bruno, aka camper.arts, creator of BrazSonic, before the pandemic, like many here, hoped to have a greater year with great achievements. However, in addition to all the restrictions of the pandemic, health problems, and obligations of adult professional life, I had a period of mourning, which I still face today.

Soon this interfered a lot in the project, which besides being a hobby, is a case of study of game development, storytelling, art direction, communication, and digital marketing, which can be considered a portfolio. The same goes for all the volunteers involved in the project.

I had planned to release BrazSonic 20XX version this year, because in the same month last year, I had released the first public DEMO of the game, kind of in a rush, but that was still quite successful. Over the following months, I made a lot of progress with BrazSonic 20XX, with English and Spanish translations, Joypad support (Android and Windows), performance optimizations (mainly on mobile), significant bug fixes, mission mode with very unusual challenges, and much more.

September of that year also had a historical edition of SAGE 2020, the Sonic Amateur Game Expo, an online event that brings together Sonic fan games and independent games since the 2000s. And of course, BraSonic cannot be left out of this one, as it was released the definitive demo with the most important updates, and we had good feedback.

Moreover, BrazSonic will not be released this year, more for the sake of quality, as I want to deliver a complete and fun experience, with a lot to enjoy.

Overall, I thank everybody who’s supporting the BrazSonic project, from the communities to the beta testing, your words and experience are very important here.

Despite the delay, BrazSonic is not dead, it’s very alive!

And Merry Xmas and Happy New Year for everybody!
